Almost Time For Carnival On St. Thomas In The Beautiful US Virgin Islands. Come Celebrate With Us Island Style.

If you are looking for some colorful and tasty cultural fun, combined with beach time, and fabulous TAX FREE shopping, St. Thomas in April is the perfect place to visit. April is the month in which we celebrate our yearly Carnival, and since it is an American territory NO Passport is needed for US citizens. So hop on a flight and come visit America’s Paradise.

The first Carnival ever celebrated on St. Thomas was in February 1912, then once again in 1914, but after that it took 38 years before the celebrations begun again after Ron De Lugo, a local radio personality called for a Carnival celebration in 1952; and the rest is history. You can read more about the history of Carnival on VI Now.

Every spring the Virgin Islanders gear up for Carnival, elaborate, colorful costumes are created, floats are decorated, dance troupes and steel drum orchestras are practicing, all getting ready to perform at the different events throughout the month, with the main events scheduled the last week of April.
